Comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Plan

The City of Schertz (City) lies along the I-35 corridor between San Antonio and Austin and along I-10 between San Antonio and Houston. Spanning Guadalupe, Comal, and Bexar Counties, Schertz benefits from its location in the San Antonio–New Braunfels metropolitan statistical area (San Antonio MSA) while remaining a distinct community. As one of the largest suburban communities in the MSA, Schertz has grown its industrial base to offset the tax burden on its residents. In order to sustain and grow its commercial and industrial tax base to provide premier services and ensure a high quality of life, a comprehensive strategy is needed.
